I find glass exciting to paint. While the objects are glasses, the main subject is space. As a painter, I am intrigued with pushing flat, abstracted space up against "realistic" deep space. Glass especially affords me the opportunity to challenge myself in this way. I have a visceral response to glass. I shift perspectives and tweak what I see, heightening the experience of what is glass.
